Urology Care Foundation Humanitarian Grant Program

The Urology Care Foundation Humanitarian Grant Program supports the outstanding efforts of individuals and projects that provide direct urologic patient care to individuals and communities in underserved areas, either within or outside the United States. Consideration is given to the nature and scope of contributions; frequency and duration of involvement; positive changes and results for communities, facilities and programs; as well as contributions toward sustainability.

Program Details & Eligibility:

  • All AUA members can apply including Senior, Honorary and International members.
  • Residents/Fellows who apply must be sponsored by and work in collaboration with a board-certified urologist and must provide permission/approval from their institutions to participate.
  • Seven grants are available in 2022. (See link below for full Program Announcement).
  • Applicants must highlight their affiliation with established organizations/programs/projects.
  • The Foundation encourages diversity among applicants and associated projects.

These humanitarian grants are made possible through Humanitarian Endowment funds. Learn how you can support this extraordinary initiative.

Grants available for the 2022 cycle

The following three grants will support projects either within or outside the United States, without country/region or other specific requirement.

  1. AUA/UCF Endowment: Funded by the American Urological Association.
  2. UCF/Richard J. Fox Family Endowment: Funded by the Richard J. Fox Family.
  3. UCF/Nathirmal Lalchandani, MD Endowment: Funded by Dr. Ram M. Lalchandani.

Four grants will support projects with country/region or other specific requirement*.

  1. UCF/Endourological Society, Raju and Ginny Thomas Endowment: Funded by Dr. Raju and Ginny Thomas, this grant supports projects either within or outside the United States. Applicants must be members of the Endourological Society.*
  2. UCF/IAUA Endowment: Funded by the Indian American Urological Association, this grant supports projects specifically within the country of India.*
  3. UCF/Amerson Family Endowment: Funded by Dave Amerson and family, this grant supports projects specifically within the United States inner cities, priority will be given to mission work focused on minorities.*
  4. Exelixis Grant: Funded by Exelixis, this grant supports projects specifically within the United States, and preferably focused on Urologic Cancers (cancers that affect the urinary tract, bladder, kidneys, ureter, prostate, testicles, penis or adrenal gland). Care could also address renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC).*

*Applicants will be considered for all awards for which they are eligible.
