Prostate Cancer Awareness Month Hits Full Stride

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. It's a great time of year to explore the host of free resources offered by the Urology Care Foundation and its Know Your Stats about Prostate Cancer ® campaign.

As part of Foundation activities during Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, four new episodes of the Urology Care Podcast will be released in September. The first podcast episode released earlier this month is an interview with prostate cancer expert and surgeon Dr. Scott Eggener of the University of Chicago.

Other podcast episodes that will be out this month include talks with prostate cancer survivors and caretakers opening up about their experiences with this disease. The following shows will be released every Thursday throughout the remainder of this special awareness month:

Surviving Prostate Cancer and Loving Life with guest Keith Harring

Keith Harring (pictured above) is a longtime volunteer at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. He also works as a referee for major NCAA college basketball. Keith was driving to referee a game at Bowling Green St. University when he received the phone call that said he had prostate cancer. Listen to this podcast episode.

My Prostate Cancer Journey with Pro Football Hall of Famer Mike Haynes

Pro Football Hall of Famer Mike Haynes of the New England Patriots and Oakland Raiders has a message for all men and their loved ones. Mike also speaks very candidly about his feelings on overall men's health during this in-depth discussion on prostate cancer. Listen to this podcast episode.

When Prostate Cancer Returns and Advice for Caretakers with Phil and Maggie Shulka

Phil Shulka and his wife Maggie (also his caretaker) discuss their prostate cancer journey. They also talk about Phil's outlook on life now that his prostate cancer has returned. Phil and Maggie provide concrete and actionable advice to men and caretakers affected by prostate cancer. Listen to this podcast episode
